The session aimed to further enhance the operators’ proficiency, process understanding, and routine maintenance skills for the company’s high‑precision five‑axis CNC grinding machines, thereby providing a solid talent foundation for the high‑precision manufacturing of slitter shear blades, alloy blades, stainless steel blades, and circular knives.

Theoretical Instruction – Strengthening the Foundation
The morning theory session was led by an external CNC expert invited by the company. The content covered the working principles of CNC grinding machines, grinding parameter settings, grinding wheel selection and balancing, identification and handling of common alarm codes, and more. The instructor used real production cases from Mingbai to explain in detail the different grinding parameter requirements for blades made of various materials (alloy steel, stainless steel, powder metallurgy high‑speed steel). Participants listened attentively, asked questions actively, and the classroom atmosphere was lively. An operator from the alloy blade production line said, “Before, I adjusted parameters mainly based on experience. Today’s systematic theory gave me a much deeper understanding of grinding principles.”
Hands‑on Practice – Enhancing Skills
The afternoon session moved to the production workshop for practical exercises. The instructor demonstrated the entire process of programming, tool setting, trial grinding, and precision inspection of complex circular knives on a high‑precision five‑axis CNC grinding machine. Participants then took turns operating the machines, with the instructor providing guidance and feedback. Issues such as grinding burns and dimensional deviations were analyzed on the spot, and improvement measures were proposed. Through step‑by‑step instruction, the trainees significantly improved their operating standardization and troubleshooting abilities.
Maintenance Training – Prevention First
Equipment maintenance was also a key focus of the training. The equipment engineer explained the daily inspection procedure, lubrication and maintenance intervals, filter cleaning methods, and common minor fault troubleshooting techniques for CNC grinding machines. Under the engineer’s guidance, participants practiced hands‑on tasks such as grinding wheel dynamic balance testing and coolant concentration measurement. One maintenance staff member said, “In the past, we only repaired equipment when problems occurred. Now that we have learned preventive maintenance, it will help extend equipment life and reduce downtime.”
Assessment – Ensuring Effectiveness
After the training, all participants took a written theory test and a practical assessment. The assessment covered grinding parameter selection, program debugging, workpiece inspection, and equipment point‑checking. The final pass rate was 94%; those who did not pass will receive remedial training. The company will issue internal skill certification certificates to those who pass the assessment, which will serve as a reference for job promotion and performance evaluation.
Continuous Training – Building a Craftsmanship Culture
The company’s production head said in his summary, “The quality of Mingbai’s products ultimately depends on the skills of every front‑line employee. We will regularly carry out various types of skill training to build a platform for employee growth and forge a team of highly skilled, excellence‑oriented craftsmen.” In the future, the company will also launch special training sessions on heat treatment processes, coating technology, precision inspection, and other topics, continuously improving the professional competence of all staff.
